Where to Shop in Maui

In between visits to the beach, check out some of Maui's best shopping destinations. Stop at The Shops at Wailea for local and international brands, or Lahaina Cannery Mall for boutiques and groceries.

Ali`i Kula Lavender Farm

Local and sustainable, the Ali’i Kula Lavender farm offers aromatherapy as well as apparel, postcards, bracelets and more. The farm is in the upcountry region of Maui and has more than 25 varieties of lavender. You’ll find that lavender in bath, body and culinary items as well as the relaxing organic Kula Calm Tea. —SJ

Lahaina Cannery Mall

Escape the heat at the Lahaina Cannery, the island’s only fully enclosed air-conditioned shopping centre. Check out a variety of boutique retail stores plus entertainment and activities such as hula and ukulele lessons. There is also a Longs Drugs and a 24-hour Safeway. —SJ

Maui Prime Fine Foods

If your lodging provides a kitchenette or you want to put together a picnic basket, make a quick stop at Maui Prime Fine Foods. It has fresh gourmet and specialty foods and its staff offers cooking instructions and wine pairing suggestions. Choose from meats, fish, cheeses, wines and ready to eat items. —SJ

Outlets of Maui

Historic Lahaina’s Front Street boardwalk has an eclectic mix of shops including the more than 30 leading designer stores found in the Outlets of Maui shopping centre. Enjoy tropical open-air shopping while perusing your favourite brands such as Michael Kors, Calvin Klein, Guess and more. —CS

The Shops at Wailea

This mall tucked in the 1,500-acre resort community of Wailea has more than 70 boutiques, restaurants, and art galleries to explore. Local brands include Honolua Surf Co. and Cariloha Bamboo. International favourites include Gucci, and Lululemon. —SJ

Whalers Village

This oceanfront retail center is perfect for families travelling with small children as there is a play area with a splash pad, climbing wall and stroller rentals. After the kids have tired themselves out, take a stroll through the open-aired mall that houses high-end brands—think Louis Vuitton and Lilly Pulitzer—and Hawaiian chains such as Honolulu Cookie Company and Maui Divers Jewelry. —CS
