Claim to fame
It indeed began as a berry farm in 1920, added a chicken dinner restaurant in 1937 and by 1940 already had an early theme park. Today, this 64-hectare Buena Park property with a family-friendly vibe boasts more than 165 rides, shows and attractions.
Thrills for teens
So many ways to get your G-force on here. Start with their inverted roller coaster, Silver Bullet, which hurtles you around—vertical loop and cobra roll included—for more than two minutes with your feet dangling. Other must-do coasters include the West Coast’s longest wooden monster GhostRider and the explosive, hydraulically launched Xcelerator. The new WindSeeker rotates riders 92-m. (!) above the ground.
Fun for wee ones
Head to Camp Snoopy for puppy-sized thrills, like the gently circling Red Baron planes or Joe Cool’s Gr8 Sk8, a giant, rocking skateboard. Catch Peanuts-themed shows at the Charles M. Schulz Theatre. Or ride the Calico Railroad, an Old West-style train.
