Dallas: Mixing Business and Leisure

Winding down in D-Town

Bleisure tips for Dallas, from Austin Chaney, front-office supervisor at the Magnolia Hotel Dallas.

For a bleisure traveller with:

One Evening Free

Head to Five-Sixty, celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck’s popular restaurant. It’s located atop Reunion Tower, which is an iconic spot in the city. The tower’s new GeO-Deck gives you unparalleled views of Dallas through high-definition zoom cameras and an interactive digital touch-screen display.

One Extra Day

Spend some time in Klyde Warren Park. It has a children’s park, water elements, food trucks, walking paths, an on-site restaurant and more. Then check out the Dallas Arts District; within a block of each other are the Dallas Museum of Art, Nasher Sculpture Centre and Crow Collection of Asian Art.

Two Extra Days

If you have a second day, consider The Dallas World Aquarium. It’s like an aviary, a zoo and an aquarium, all bundled into one big package. What makes it really cool is that most of the animals are in seamless enclosures rather than cages. Sloths hang out in branches right above the walkway. Also check out the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden.
