You may be familiar with the Sagrada Familía basilica, Antoni Gaudí’s Catalan modernism masterpiece, now in its 137th year of construction. But lesser-known are these buildings by the celebrated architect.

1. Casa Vicens

The most recent Gaudí property to open to the public is the first house he designed in the city, thought to be among the earliest examples of art nouveau architecture.


2. Torre Bellesguard

Gaudí gave this manor house a dragon theme, which becomes apparent on the rooftop, where the shape of the building forms the head of the mythical creature.


3. Bodegas Güell

A 30-minute drive from the city centre, this wine cellar complex was commissioned by influential businessman Eusebi Güell.
