How does Sarah Slean prepare for Festival d’été de Quebec?
Despite suffering “painfully terrible bouts of stage fright,” Sarah Slean is bringing her cabaret pop to Quebec City’s Festival d’été on July 10, 2012. She will be playing songs from her latest album Land & Sea, and favourites like “Sweet Ones.”
She admits playing a festival is harder than the average show.
Seal at Festival International de Jazz de Montreal and Ottawa’s Bluesfest
British artist Seal kicked off his North America tour in Montreal last night at the Festival International de Jazz de Montreal.
Seal bounced around the stage singing songs from his latest album Soul 2, which was released earlier this year. “Let’s Stay Together,” and “Love T.K.O.” met with great crowd enthusiasm, as did his hits “Crazy" and “Kiss from a Rose.” The only song missing from his 20-odd-song performance was “Fly Like an Eagle,” his cover of the Steve Miller Band song he recorded for the movie Space Jams.
Liza Minnelli performs at Festival International de Jazz de Montréal
The Festival International de Jazz de Montréal has been trying to book Liza Minnelli for years, and with good reason. The 66-year old breathy singer put on a spectacular show, in every sense of the word.
Minnelli performed her classics at the Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier at Place des Arts: “New York, New York,” “Cabaret,” an amusing French version of “Liza With a ‘Z’” as well as songs from her latest album, Confessions.
